Summer 2008 - Patrimony

Saint Martin

Villages visits

With 22 hamlets and villages, the towship of Saint Martin de Belleville is a living witness of yesteryear life in a mountain community.

Once a week, local volunteers give guided visits of the valley's villages. For amateurs of history and patrimony, this is an opportunity to get to know the valley better, via olden day life, pastoral traditions and local anecdotes .

Villages fêtes

The village fetes are occasions to share, along side the village inhabitants, certain traditions that are still part of local life, such as cooking the bread in the communal oven.

These fêtes, one is not to be missed : the 15th of August. In the morning : a pilgrimage to Notre Dame de la Vie sanctuary, followed by an open-air meal. In the afternoon : fete in Sant Martin, exhibitions of local handicrafts. A day finished in style with a show-dinner and firework display.

And also :
- July 20th : Festival at the village of Villarabout
- August 10th : Festival at the village of Villarenger
