Refuges in Les Belleville Valley
To stop over somewhere for the night or simply treat yourself to a good time, the refuges in Les Belleville Valley offer meals, snacks and overnight stays. These unique and authentic locations are nestled in the heart of some exceptional scenery.
Lac du Lou Refuge
This refuge is located in a small valley free from ski lifts, on the shores of the largest lake in the Belleville Valley: Lac du Lou. It is the perfect spot for getting away from it all and spending some quality time in an unspoilt location. It can sleep 32 people half-board and serves Savoyard cuisine made from local products.
Trait d'Union Refuge
The Trait d'Union refuge, located above the village of Saint-Marcel and accessible by cable car or by foot, is a unique and authentic haven of peace and quiet that Viviane Hudry, the refuge's caretaker, is eager to share. She serves up traditional Savoyard cuisine, and has two 2-person rooms and one 4-person room available.
Gittamelon Refuge, located in a small and authentic mountain village, is accessible by foot, by mountain bike, by car, via the Les Encombres marked trail or via the Planlebon pedestrian footpath. It is a dream location for sampling Savoyard specialities, spending an evening with your friends and resting up after a decent hike (can sleep 18 people).
Plan Lombardie Refuge
Located in an as-yet unspoilt and wild valley, at the foot of the majestic Cheval Noir mountain, the Plan Lombardie refuge is 15 minutes' drive from Saint-Jean-de-Belleville followed by 30 to 40 minutes' walk along a rocky path. You can eat here, experience a night's stay in a refuge (can sleep 21) or even organise an event.
