Things to Do When the Weather is Bad
What is there to do when it’s grey and gloomy outside? We’ve put together a selection of activities suited to the occasion. Between discovering heritage sites and local life or relaxation, everyone can choose according to his or her taste.
Exploring Local Heritage Sites
The village of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville has a great and astonishing history. Previously isolated with difficult living conditions, Saint-Martin and its residents experienced a massive change in their lives with the growth of the ski resorts. The museum (located right next to the Tourist Office) outlines these events with stories and video testimonies from older villagers.
Also located right in the village centre is the church of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, a true witness of the past. As with many Baroque churches, its exterior appears fairly restrained, with all of its riches hidden inside.
The Notre-Dame-de-la-Vie Shrine
A must-see in the valley, you're guaranteed to enjoy visiting the chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-Vie. This Baroque shrine has been and still is an important pilgrimage site.
Taking Some Time Out for Wellness
Alternatively, you could simply take some time to rest and enjoy a peaceful day. The comfortable village cafés will welcome you for a tea or hot chocolate.
Games to Share
Each of these games comes with its own fun and unique atmosphere, taking you to the top of Mt. Everest, into the future, or to the abattoir! You can choose between Virtual Games, indoor escape games or even axe throwing in Les Menuires.
A film on the Big Screen
The two cinemas in Les Menuires offering daily screenings of the latest films are another great way to have fun. An extra screening is added to the schedule on bad weather days.
